Pooch Pals Customer Reviews
"We moved to Pickering in December 2012, with two very nervous pussy cats (Charlie and Millie). We have had Charlie and Millie approximately 4 years, as older rescue cats. They are now about 11 years old. They had had a bit of a rough life, being passed from pillar to post and had (we were told) been "house cats". They were extremely nervous and timid. They have improved a little over time, but still need very calm, patient and caring attention. They are such loving cats when given the right care. Finding a cat sitter who understands this and can also cope with injecting Charlie (who is diabetic) twice a day, is quite tricky. Consequently, since Charlie was diagnosed with diabetes about 3 years ago, we have had very little time away.
Last November 2012 we decided we desperately need a short break and started looking around for a local Cat Sitter who had a good reputation. We asked at vets and through friends but had no luck. We then got a leaflet through our door advertising Pooch Pals. I contacted Holly, who happily came to visit us and was very keen to meet Charlie and Millie (to me this was a good sign). I was very nervous about leaving Charlie and Millie with a stranger, however, Holly's approach when she met the two of them for the first time was very calm and caring. She clearly adores animals and loves being around them. They were quite relaxed with her. Holly was more than happy to visit us as many times as required to sort out routines for feeding and injecting prior to us going away, which was also comforting.
We had our trip away in November 2012 and returned to happy cats; Holly had coped admirably. Charlie had given her the run around a few times, but they soon got into a routine. Holly is happy to spend as much time as required when feeding and looking after pets while owners are away and this is reassuring.
This year Charlie ended up being quite poorly just prior to us going away in September. He had an operation and was still in pretty poor shape two days before we were due to go. Holly was great. She visited us and I went through all the medication, on top of insulin. Vets instructions etc etc. Holly did amazingly while we were away. Looking after Charlie, really caring, arranging Vets visits and liaising with the vets to ensure Charlie got the post op care he needed and she didn't forget about Millie either.
I feel totally comfortable leaving Charlie and Millie with Holly to look after them. She is conscientious and caring and will do whatever is required to ensure your pets get the care and attention they need. She is clearly very passionate about what she does and I think we are very lucky to have found her. Holly's rates are very reasonable, so you get great care at affordable prices and your pets get to stay in the comfort of their own home. A win win situation. Thanks Holly.".

"I contacted Holly via Pooch Pals as I was coming up to Yorkshire from Essex for a holiday, and wanted to spent a full day in York City. Most holiday cottages don't let you leave dogs unattended in them, but also I was planning to leave him for most of the day. Holly was very friendly and professional, I met up with her at her home before the day to see how Herbie and she got on. I had no worries as they took to each other at once. It was nice to leave Herbie in a home environment and to know he was treated like one of the family. Holly also provided two walks for him during the day and I think a few treats!! I have no hesitation in recommending Holly and it made my trip to York so much more relaxing knowing Herbie was well cared for. Thanks once again for looking after Herbie. Many Thanks"

Holly was an excellent student on the British College of Canine Studies Dog Walker Certificate course. I would highly recommend her dog walking services to any potential clients. Your dog would be in good hands, cared for by a dog walker who understands individual breeds and their needs, canine body language, how to keep a dog safe and how to approach and take care of your dog in the way that will make him or her feel confident and at ease. If you're looking for a dog walker who understands that every dog is different and should be treated as such, I would highly recommend Holly. Dee Tyler, British College of Canine Studies.

"Friendly and excellent service, very highly recommended and one very happy wagging tailed Butch Cassidy thank you" Tracy Cassidy
"Stanley has been walked by Holly from Pooch Pals for the last few months, both while i was working full time and since i have been on maternity leave. while i was working Stanley was noticeably happier to have had a walk half way through the day and for me it was a weight off my mind knowing that he was going to see someone and be able to go to the loo, so i didn't have to worry any more.
Since i finished work Holly has been great, fitting Stan's walks into her busy week and being very patient with his clingyness to me, again it has been really helpful, taking the stress off me. she even brought him some of her home made dog treats, Which he wolfed down with relish.
I would recommend Pooch Pals to anyone with a busy schedule or anyone who struggles to get out with their dog. Holly seems to have a natural affinity with the dogs she walks and certainly a lot of patience. she's also very accommodating with time changes etc and her charges are well worth the peace of mind you get from knowing your dog is well cared for and exercised, when you are unable to do it yourself. Thanks Holly, i really appreciate your help!" Jess
"What a fantastic service! Thank you for taking such great care of Laila the other day, especially going the extra mile to look after her when the weather got so hot. I would certainly recommend your service to anyone looking for peace of mind and a happy pet when they need to go out." Joanne
'Fantastic service from Holly at Pooch Pals Pickering, who obviously has a genuine connection with animals, when looking after our cat Tiffany while we were on holiday. I must say I was anxious about leaving Tiffany for a week, she is quite a shy little cat and would not have liked going to a cattery at all as she enjoys going out and about doing her own thing in her familiar environment. Holly popped in to feed her, check she was okay and collect her little 'presents' she likes to leave us around the house. She also sent us a couple of texts while we were away about how Tiffany was doing, which provided a great piece of mind! Before we went away, she called in to meet Tiffany and learn a bit about her likes and needs and I must say when we came home, Tiffany seemed to miss her a little bit! Many many thanks for a your service, highly recommended to all!' Paul Hughes
